What is Personal Coaching?

In the same way that athletic coaches help their athletes to become the best players they can be, this same philosophy applies to the lives of people in general. Every person has short- and long-term goals that they would like to accomplish in their personal lives, artistic, and/or athletic careers. Personal goals often become overlooked and then forgotten because people lack “know how” and a credible coach to help them reach their goals. Parents, teachers, and even counselors who try to help are often overwhelmed with too many duties, students, and/or clients. Some helpers also lack the knowledge, abilities, and techniques needed to assist individuals with certain issues and concerns. At the same time, athletes’ goals are not always reached because athletic coaches cannot give enough individual attention to all players. Basically, some people and athletes get overlooked and never reach their full potential as individuals and in what they want to do. Therefore, having a personal life coach who is knowledgeable, credible, goal-oriented, and helps you develop and execute your own specialized program can be the difference between letting problems and difficulties take you down or successfully achieving your goals through a solution-focused, holistic approach.

Why Use Personal Coaching Instead of Traditional Counseling?

Traditional counseling and psychological services always require a mental health diagnosis before insurance companies reimburse therapists for their services. Unfortunately, this diagnostic process labels people through records that can remain indefinitely and in some cases, even compromise a person’s privacy and confidentiality. Dr. Pappas’ guidance and coaching services offer another option because clients receive quality and affordable services without having to use insurance companies that require a diagnosis. Furthermore, personal difficulties and problems are viewed as only obstacles and challenges that can be overcome as opposed to a mental health diagnosis that labels and can last indefinitely.
